    Hello from Connecticut!

Been a lurker for about a year now. Got my WBBB XLC earlier this year after trying some hanging this past February in the south using a friend's HH Asym. I completely fell in love with it and will not use a tent except with the family or friends who have not been converted. Just got back from a nice, 2 day hike in the White Mtns on the AT and was yelling "whoo buddy" every so often as the views were absolutely stunning!! We weren't equipped for the 2nd night of below freezing weather but the first night we got down to 40F and did ok using an exped mat and some Costco topquilts. An underquilt is next as the exped is too heavy even though it has a great R value. I can't wait to learn more things and get out there more!!

Welcome from Southern Maryland! I have to WBBB XLC and have a DIY under quilt right now, but I've been eyeing up the Wookie. It will probably make my purchase list next year.

Welcome from the south to Hammock forums. Check out that Wookie if you want a custom fit underquilt that requires no messing with adjustments that is very very warm.

Thanks for the advice, you two. I have been eyeballing it and am saving up for it. I figure it would be the easiest setup although I am not adverse to other brands that work. I definitely want something in the 20 degree range that I can vent as needed. I am a cold sleeper so I think that I would do fine most trips out here in the Northeast. The northern AT and side trails are my main points right now for venturing out so I figure that would be the best to use except during the summer. The weather on our trip this weekend was supposed to be in the 40/50F range and the front moved and got pretty nippy quick. Only had a couple of cold spots as I didn't inflate my exped and suffered as the cold basically conducted through it on the pressure points. Had I inflated it, I would have been fine except for the couple of spots where I would come off of it. I was extremely surprised at how good the costco top quilt and just another costco down on my side did. For the weight, they are my go to ones for the top.

Well hello from the MA/CT state line! I lurked for a long time before I first posted...and just returned from a three year 'leave.'

I spent a rainy night with a bunch of 4-H kids in my tent the Whites (I had tried to tell them about the rain in the Whites...), and had my tent blow apart during a storm in the Green Mountains a year later. I swore I was done with tent camping back when my kids were in their teens! A friend bought her first Hennessy. I loved it and bought mine shortly thereafter. I have been using a hammock for 6 or so years and will never go back!
