VIDEO: Zaleski, Gear Talk, and Review

This weekend I got out to Zaleski State Forest in Ohio for a good two-night trip. The trail is 29.5 miles for the complete loop of the entire Backpack Trail. This is the first of 3 videos from the trip, and it covers day 1, some gear talk, what's in my bag, and a Packit Gourmet review.

The weather this weekend was beautiful. I found myself in Dayton, OH on a business trip, with no plans, so I took my backpack along. After meetings wrapped up on Friday, I drove the 2 hours to Zaleski and started my weekend on the trail. The trail is great, if you ever find yourself in OH with nothing to do, check it out. Well marked, and mostly well maintained. You can tell where the majority of the people travel, hint, it's not the North Loop!

Anyway, enjoy the video, and let me know what you think!

Zaleski is great! I've only gone in the fall/early winter. I camped at the same spot you were, thinking it was pretty remote but a bunch of folk showed up. It turns out theres a road not far from there. It was still awesome.

Gfranxman, have I told you the story from the Adirondack trip where the three of us were quoting lines from the Whipsnake add, I think we were talking specifically about Le Crevasse when a guy came around the corner and asked if we were talking about Steve Climber and the Whipsnake. Funniest thing that happened to us all day!
