    I use Adutchable clips, really happy with them. You'll need to unpick a loop to thread it, you can stitch, or knot a loop back on after. That will stop you losing the clip too.

    Another option, if you have too much strap, is to do a timber hitch.

    I've been using mine on 3.3 kevlar straps, w/ speed hooks - been working fine.
    My straps came with the non-loop end sewed over on itself. The kevlar's pretty thin stuff, but that sewed end still lets me slide the strap through the slot in the adutchable clip, while keeping it from sliding off on its own.
    One time the end of the strap got shaken out of the rest of the clip, and that sewn end alone was apparently enough to hold me up.
