    Alright.
I am looking for a way to hold two people without worry of breaking. That's why I said 400 pounds.
My wife and I take a hammock while we backpack. Sleep in a tent and chill in the hammock.
    Here's a question.
    Do whoopie things stretch?

Try them out and choose what's best for you.
I just started testing the Beckett Hitch out with the DIY tree straps (1" poly with one sewn loop and one free end) I made recently, and I think it's an awesome knot for its simplicity and ease of operation. Is it actually really hard over time on the Amsteel continuous loops on the ends of my hammocks? I realize there's no free lunch, but that would be an unfortunate consequence of using such a light and handy hardware-free method...

By "CL" are you referring to amsteel continuous loops? If so, it seems like they would take a lot of abuse and would be pretty cheap to replace if they ever needed it.

Not much... maybe a very little when you first put them under load. Once the weave is compressed...they are pretty static...

Good. I've had experiences in the past where I wind up waking up in the night hanging lower than when I started.
