Long time lurker, first time poster.

Hello everybody!

I've been on this forum for quite a while, but I haven't really felt I had anything important to contribute. But, rather than be an antisocial lurker, I thought I'd just throw myself out there share some experiences and maybe meet some new friends.

I'm originally from central Nebraska, but I've come a long, circuitous way to Oakland, California. I've found that it's really easy to get sucked down the technical rabbit hole that is hammock camping. It's pretty interesting seeing how we all have our preferred methods and tricks, however ingenious they are, to solve the same problems.

I'm an avid bike packer which allows me to use these tricks to lighten my load quite considerably. Thanks to everyone who has posted, it's been really helpful!

Welcome to the conversation! I hope you can share some of your experiences; one thing we lack is a healthy supply of bike hangers' (bangers?) stories in the trip reports.

Nothing wrong with lurking. I do way more reading here instead of posting. Glad to see I'm not alone in that. Looking forward to seeing what you add to the conversation. I've never bike packed but have thought about it.
