Hello June Bug, Inspector Guy nailed it perfectly, and thanks to him for doing that. I was exchanging some messages with Squidbilly over in Alabama and they are having the same issues there with the fire ban for their Halloween Hang as well. But we will have a fine time, I'll try to bring a couple of candle lanterns and maybe we can have enough to make a small "semi-campfire" to gather around. Might be a little challenge to try and make Smore's over the candle lanterns!!!

Yeah, it's a bummer not having a campfire, but I don't want to start a wildfire. This will be our first hang without a fire to gather around.

I think the candle lantern idea is the way to go, at least it looks like a real fire. Heck, it IS real fire, just safely contained and not launching hot embers into the wind.

I like it! It will just be different without the fire for sure and no one on HF wants to be known for burning down the forest! Hope you guys have a great time and we can compare stories at the next hang, I'm sure there will be something to laugh about, always is��

Hey guys, I hate to miss it but it doesn't look like we'll be able to come. My wife's a teacher and can't get out early enough on Friday, so we'd be too late getting there, and Sunday we go to church so we couldn't stay Saturday night.

We do have a short trip planned, but don't know if we can pull it off yet.

Went by Raven Cliffs yesterday. Of course, no fires. Bear activity has picked up in the area. There was scat near the pavilion and signs that encouraged keeping the dumpster door closed.

Where is the pavallion at Raven Cliff? I've never never seen a pavilion in the 10 years I've been going there?

He is probably talking about the shelter where the signs are next to the bathrooms.

I hope they got all the trash picked up that was scattered when I went by there a few days ago...
