I experimented with some UCR's made from 2.2 Dynaglide. One failed on me (I'm 250#) but the other held just fine for several hangs.
I do like them because they use so much less line for the same length of suspension, but it was a little fiddly making sure they didn't slip. The Dyna is a more slippery rope on purpose, so that may explain it.
It's interesting that you don't have problems with it slipping because there are multiple threads here with people discussing the subject. Maybe only heavier hammockers like me have that problem?
As long as I made sure the bury section was tightly pulled and the prussik I had tied at the end was secure it was ok, but it did have to be just right. I may try again with 7/64 just to see if there's a difference.
Thanks for the vid!
I haven't tried a UCR but it seems that a half hitch like Tacblades shows in video would prevent it from slipping. I can't see how a half hitch could be pulled through a 7 in bury.
I think it holds a lot eaiser on 7/64th than dynaglide unless the bury is a lot longer.

I love making guy lines using UCR's. Light, no hardware, quick and easy to adjust, holds tight. Also insert a pieces of shock cord to provide a little give and hold tension if the tarp slacks a bit. Haven't tried them for suspension but might be time to play a bit.

I'm wondering about how to make a UCR grip better and not fail. Maybe splice 1/8 amsteel inside of 7/64--that would grip better than 7/64 inside 7/64. Also if the rope inside bury is rougher texture and larger then it will grip even better. Maybe something like spyderline--I don't know if it comes in 1/8. And if all you got is 7/64 and zingit or lashit--you could double a length of it and spice it inside the inner bury before you make UCR. This would make the inner bury larger diameter and grip better.
This idea so far may not be ideal as it adds weight and how long are you gonna make the inside larger?--a foot, three feet or more.
Now to stop UCR from failing--falling. As soon as it's adjusted for your hammock tie a slip knot in the inner rope at an inch from bury exit. It will be too big to be pulled through bury and slip knot won't slip. Good luck!
