Feeling before you sit down is worth the extra few seconds! I always grab the hammock anyway and spread it out so I'm not sitting on a bunch of ridged up fabric.
I ordered (and am currently waiting on) an AHE Jarbidge, I chose a dark green immediately because I like to be unnoticeable when I want to be. I'd like to do a long hiking trip next year, so I also chose my hammock and tarp in earth tones so my camp is a little more subtle.
I suppose brighter colors would be good if you're more of an open, campground camper and want to be seen
