    Dyneema/Polypro Straps vs Polyester Straps

    https://youtu.be/TfRgVrcbNnk

I found this video informative. Dyneema/Polypropylene Straps are only advertised as being a lighter alternative to traditional polyester straps on Dutch's site which is obviously the case.

    Very interesting, thank you!

Nice vid, but I agree with doubledutch - I didn't notice anything on the site when I bought mine a month ago about water absorption, and I definitely don't see anything now. I am surprised however that they do absorb more.

To be fair he's only trying to test water retention. Obviously soaking straps isn't an accurate simulation of heavy rain fall but it does meet his intent.

This hobby is getting way...to...technical. I always made fun how 30% of posts were about whoopie slings years ago. Now I'm sort of missing that simplicity. Nothing against the OP or this post. It has just become so clear recently.

Ultralight backpacking has always been technical. Anytime you make something simply about metrics there is going to be technicalities.

I was referring specifically to hammocking and this forum. I guess it was only a matter of time before the UL aspects came into play.
