Got my dangerbird in the mail today and it's raining for the first time in over a month, maybe even two months. We need the rain so can't complain. Will try it out in the backyard this weekend

Congrats and enjoy! looking forward to the pics
I had already decided I wanted both netting and cover so it would be a full four season hammock. The only decision was Sparrow or Thunderbird. In the end the Sparrow won over for me. It is a hard choice between these two models of hammock. I doubt that you will regret it either way.
Was able to set up my dangerbird this morning and lay in it with and without the underquilt on and with and without the overcover.
Here a few thoughts I had while laying in it:
1) the hyperD is very comfortable and feels really good but is has a lot more static than my nylonD
2) I'm so glad I got the extra zipper and kinda wish I had added an extra zipper to both sides instead of one, but it is fine the way it is now.
3) really like the underquilt hooks
4) even though I'm 5 foot even glad I went with the hyperD xl fabric and went with the wide as possible option. That's one thing I missed when I went from my ENO double nest to the Dutch nylonD. I like the extra width just seems more comfortable for me with the way I like to lay.
5) really like the overcover it's only 60° right now and with the underquilt (HG 20°+1 incubator) it was really warm inside....a little too warm. Can't wait to test it out this winter.
Now looking forward to a full nights sleep in it. I have a blue peak bag coming from 2QZQ and then it will be all finish. I bought the dangerbird as my winter only hammock but it may become my all year hammock, will have to use the fronky bugnet with it since I didn't get the bugnet it.
I was a little concern about paying this much for a hammock but I feel it was money well spent
