My son and I went camping in the Desolation Wilderness near Lake Tahoe. We did a loop trail starting near Emerald Bay. During the trek we intersected a section of the PCT.
We encountered some very high winds. Surprisingly the Superfly Tarp held up quite well. Winds were forecasted to be 30mph gusts. I estimate that the wind gust were up to 40-50kts. It was much more than was forecast. In this video you will see the water from the lake being whipped up. It was a spectacular sight!
The hammock performed perfectly. My son ended up getting a blister the first 5 miles and ended up hiking in his flip flops for 20 miles. All in all it was a great adventure. I hope you can enjoy the adventure through this video as much as I did. The scenery was just AWESOME!
