Video: Backpacking 101 on the Superior Hiking Trail

I put this video together from my recent trip on the Superior Hiking Trail. It is geared at folks who have not backpacked the SHT before. It was my first shot at hammock camping. I am sold. Now looking to improve my gear. Thanks to those who answered questions I have posted earlier. Ran into fellow hanger and Forum member Lady Di.

Nice video, and it was good meeting you on the trail! You're right that hangers tend to be cool people.

I enjoyed this video, as i'm hoping to get out on the SHT for the first time very soon. I"m curious how you felt about your pack load this time after all was said and done? Any unnecessary items you'll leave behind for next time?

    John,
That's funny as this is what drove me to post that question

I wasn't bothered by the weight this time. I want to lose the sleeping bag and pad and get an under quilt and top quilt. I could lose about 3 pounds in the process. I might upgrade my hammock and suspension also to save a couple pounds. I also tend to pack too much food. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I like your self deprecating sort of deadpan humor in this video. Also loved the sounds of the loons. In a couple of years I predict you're going to revisit this video and shake your head at how much you and your gear have evolved. At the same time, I'm also betting you'll notice a lot that doesn't change. Well done.
