Just a noob from East Texas checking in! Not horribly new to hammocking, but I want to combine it with backpacking and hiking, so I figured this was the place to check out. Found out about the forum from the HYOH and TheFirst40Miles podcasts. Been watching Shug's very bizarre but very informative YouTube videos (that Dude's a hoot!), and have learned I know less about hammocks than I thought I did :-( Hope to change that and take my first ultralight-hike/ hammock trip on the NETT (NorthEast Texas Trail) in mid-October. I still have a few things to procure, like a mosquito net for instance, but I think I have everything else (I'm sure there will be something I will need and not have :-P ). Right now the big thing is to trim my pack weight down... and thanks for the welcome!
