Great looking couple of hammocks you should be proud. On the checkered IUQ it looks like the little triangle areas at the corners of the quilt do not have prima-loft in them . Is this the case ? Does not need it there? Also - in the last pic it looks like the material is quite shinny- is this just DWR/ calandered or is it sil/ waterproof? I really like the checker board design especially with hunting season just around the corner. That triangle storage is really neat. Looks like hanging in heaven. THanks.

Not needed unless your elbows, etc are resting in that area - which won't happen for most hangers.

GREAT work, theclark5 (& Grizz!!)! I agree that the storage areas are nice and convenient. What a simple way to hang in flat comfort!

As Otter said, I don't believe it necessary to have coverage up that high. the under quilt (either down or primaloft or climashield) is essentially a rectangle that is about 4" wider than the narrowest portion of the hammock body to account for stretch. The fabric for the under quilt is RSBTR Membrane 15 that does have a DWR.

The end triangles really replace "saddle bags" on the side. Did this because I didn't want block the look of the under quilt. and it is very convenient.

Being my first down project I decided to make life a bit easier. I ordered down from Wilderness Logics. Not only is it a good price but he sells it in 1 ounce packages. I used the Catsplat calculator to default to 1 ounce of down per baffle. I used 8 ounces total in 8 baffles. It made stuffing pretty easy. Temp say should be about 15 degrees. I'll test it out this weekend.

I liked the buffalo plaid because it brings back memories of warm blankets.

Man this thing is some kinda awesome!!! I've pretty much decided that I'm going to switch over to a DIY bridge hammock. Thanks for the design inspiration.

Also, we received your project write-up and it is live on the site here: https://ripstopbytheroll.com/pages/c...ulated-hammock. Thanks again for submitting. Your next order 10% off code is in route.
