    It's hard to tell from the photo, but some of those limbs look dead or week. Not sure I'd do that. JMHO

    Yea I agree too, that branch on the left in the first picture looks pretty dead! I would hate for something like this to happen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcMzDt0na5U , way up in the tree canopy, could be disastrous. You seem like you know what you're doing but I would hate to see any more hammock related injuries because of nonstructural/dead supports. Stay safe!

    You are 100% correct. I had a bunch of gear hanging off a dead limb but I was anchored to the main shaft of the tree via my climbing line. If my hammock were to fail I would be awoken with an exciting swing but I would be safe ("safe" is of course a relative term).

    I am at work so the video is blocked but if it is the video of a young guy's hammock failing then knocking the wind out of him YOU DESERVE A HUG. I have been searching for that video for a while now but I have not been able to locate it.
