Rare Find...I'm selling a no longer made highly demanded Speer Snugfit underquilt

    Price Drop... $230.00
I have two of the no longer made…highly recommended “Speer Snugfit” underquilts. So, I shall part with only one of them. A sacrifice I don’t take lightly.

Yes, this is an original Speer Snugfit. Rated for around 30 degrees and weighing in at about 28oz (from the manufacturer). This is a full length underquilt, however I don’t have the exact measurements. I’m 6ft and it goes beyond my head and feet when in my hammock. Take a look at the pictures to see the excellent craftsmanship. I’ve had this for a few years and have always stored it unpacked, hanging in my closet. We have a smoke free home. This underquilt is in great shape! I’ve added some heavier grade shock cord and added some loops so this will have added to the original 28oz that it was when it came from the manufacturer.

I’ve used this into the mid-20s along with an underquilt protector from 2QZQ. This underquilt works great with all my hammocks. I at various times have used it with the WBBB, WBBBXLC, and WBTravelerXL.
Check out the pictures, since as they say…a picture is worth a thousand words. This underquilt retailed for $339 plus shipping. I’m offering this up for $230 including shipping within the Domestic US. If you want it shipped internationally, I’ll have to figure out the extra shipping. I would prefer payment via PayPal. First “I’ll Take It” get’s dibs.

I don't know fill power and I can't find the specs online. If anyone else on the forum knows, please jump in to the conversation.

Is it the universal model with the multiple tabs along the sides, or the "Speer model" with the velcro?

    Thanks

This was originally the Speer Model. However i had the velcro removed and the tabs sewn on. Long story short...it is the universal model.

OK, thanks. (Still trying to make up my mind).

For anyone else interested, here's the original info as posted back in 2010:

Thank you for the link Bosox! I had looked all over and couldn't find it. There's a pretty cool story behind this quilt. My buddy and I bought warbonnet hammocks a few years ago and were looking hard for Snugfits because we had heard their excellent reputation. We were bummed to find out at the time that Speer had quit making the Snugfit. So, my buddy emailed Ed Speer to inquire. Ed replied and said, hey this is your lucky day. We've been sold out for a while, however we just happened to find 4 more in the warehouse that we didn't know existed. Brand new...however the Speer model only. We bought all 4...the last 4 Snugfit underquilts to ever come out of Speer! Since they were the Speer model, Ed Speer provided the information we needed to convert them to the Universal model. My wife, the excellent seamstress that she is, made all the modifications on all 4 underquilts. They look great, and in my opinion you can't tell they were converted. Anyhow, I wanted to share that story. I thought it was a pretty cool experience. The hammock community and manufacturers are a great family.
