    Superfly- sealant?

Is there treatment needed on a new superfly or was that an older model? I just order the superfly and was not sure.

The pullouts will need seam sealed. Permatex Flowable Silicone Windshield & Glass Sealer is what I used.

I have been using my Superfly for 4 years and haven'y sealed it yet. Light showers are no problem but, in a soaking rain I get sllllloooooooowww drip from the tie outs. Just enough of a nuisance to remind me that I should have sealed those spots.

    Good Luck

Just about any clear 100% silicone sealant will work.
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

Agree with Trail Runner, Permatex on the pullouts. Available at Walmart or any autoparts store. once the Permatex has cured, dust with some baby powder so it not so sticky.

If you don't seal up the pullouts you will get drips.

Good stuff. Cut a TINY hole in the nozzle and just work it along the thread. I covered about 4x the width of the thread just to be safe. No sign of cracking, peeling, or leaving after 4+ years.

Good stuff. I used it on my SF too.
