I would definitely seal the pull-outs, I had some pretty significant drips during a heavy rain on mine before I sealed.

Revisiting this thread and thanks again for all the great advice-
I have a stupid question?....It seems from my research, that WBSF is one of, if not THE most recommended tarps available and I think they even include instructions on seam sealing...no offence intended, I am just asking because I don't understand...why doesn't Warbonnet just do this as part of the mfg process?

Instructions would be a good idea. Many manufacturers (tarps, rain mitts, etc.) do not seal because it's just too time intensive. Some offer it as an addon, but for a fee.

Just spit balling.. but in addition to the time investment, seems like it would take a lot of space that many of the vendors may not have.

And there is a health and safety issue, an employer would need to risk assess the process and ensure clean air conditions for its workers.

Committed to a Boy Scout outing and record rainfalls projected, I was finally compelled to seal the pullouts on my SuperFly.

Used GE Silicon II thinned with mineral spirits (both available at local home repair or hardware store). Brushed into seams from the outside with foam brush then wiped with cotton rag. Zero visible residue when dry. 100% effective in near constant, heavy rains.

Same method used on my TarpTent Stratospire 2 has been trouble free with occasional use for more than 3 years.

Great idea. I still have an almost full tube because I didn't need very much to seal my SF.

I should also mention that our Edge model has no panel pulls so we aren't includeing any sealer with it, all models with panel pulls have the silicone included
