Video: Four Pass Loop around the Maroon Bells in the Colorado Rockies near Aspen with my HH

The last of the footage from my "Summer of 2016 marathon" of backpacking. Arguably one of the most scenic and spectacular hikes in the country, but also very crowded with people. Well worth adding to your Bucket List. Includes an unexpected and extended passage of my native American flute playing in the mountains recorded by one of my hiking partners. The sound is surprisingly good considering it was captured with a camera microphone. Enjoy!
Oh BTW, my Hennessy hammock makes a cameo appearance ;-) It is a great route for hammock camping - a lot of mileage above treeline, but most of the campsites were in the trees and many of them had obvious spots that hammock campers hd cleared making an easy and obvious hang.

Beautiful area. What kind of elevation gains did you experience on this hike? Thanks for sharing.

Over 2000 feet of elevation gain/loss on each pass, with some really steep spots when you get real close to the top of the pass. Not too bad, but when you combine with the 10,000-12,000 feet of elevation you are at, with the thin air it's a bit taxing until you acclimate.

That's great that you made the hike! Without the rain it wouldn't be so green.
