Well, I did it. HG Winter Palace.

I bought it this morning and already can't wait to take it out. I've been researching YouTube and here on what I should use as ridgeline and guyouts and how I should set it up. I think I'm going to set the doors up like adventure Alan, and use the small clips with shock cord so I don't have to carry 4 extra stakes. I also purchased some reflect cord from Dutch for the corners, how are yall setting those up on the palace? For the ridgeline I was thinking Dutch flyz with 12ft of zingit spliced on. Thanks for looking.

Congrats on the order... I am still in the fundraising (begging wife) process, for a WP.

One suggestion is to still carry two hook stakes for the doors. The hole of the clip for Guy line attachment can also be used to slip over the hook of the stake. Why, you ask? When the door is crossed and clipped to the side panel, the doors turn inward and decrease space inside the "tent" of the Tarp. By clipping the two directly at the end of the door allow the set up to be loose and able to be pulled outward and then stake it to the ground.

My other suggestion is the new Stingerz on the Reflective Cord through Dutch, for the ridgeline. You can also use Wasps on the 12 ft zing-it. I would save the flyz or even the fleas for the fours side guy line pull outs.

Enjoy the tarp! I am sooo jealous!

Thanks for the info, I didn't think about the doors like that might decrease the space. I was thinking of the stingerz, but then thought of the flyz since they are lighter.

I've used both stingerz and flyz (now a dutch CRL), all work great. I just picked up some Zpacks door hooks and toggles (on recommendation from another thread) for ease of opening to get in and out. They are outstanding. In any case congrats, it is an awesome and epic tarp. I giggle every time I set it up.

Do you put the CRL under, or over? I saw that thread the other day, I may go ahead and order them to see which I like better, since both are inexpensive. I guarantee it, I can't wait to hang under mime.

Over, otherwise drips can become a problem.

Ridgeline definitely over. I prefer a continuous ridgeline, and don't like shock cord anywhere on my tarp since it can get floppy in cold weather.

I just use a marlin spike hitch on my stakes.

I have a Dutch CRL on my Hennessy hex, and I can use it with the WP, just wanted to have two setups. With watching Shug's tarp videos, looks like the marlin spike for the tieouts will be quick and easy.

I had also planned for zpack door hooks and toggles on my SuperFly. Or something similar to hooks attached each door.

Having increased privacy and less lines to trip over is worth the extra weight.

Any suggestions on a solution for ridgeline fans and Ridgerunner's bugnet lines?
