    New to the Forum

    Hi everyone reading this. I am new to the forum but not to hammocking. I had my first hammock experience at Boy Scout summer camp around 20 years ago and have been hooked ever since. I finally upgraded to an ENO 11 years ago and that changed everything. I am really excited about learning more about it, including suspension systems, quilt systems and lightweight tarps. The DIY section is starting to grab my attention as well. Thanks to everyone ahead of time.

    I typically spend between 2-8 nights a month in any one of my hammocks. When I backpack it is the only way I sleep. What is everyone's favorite suspension system?

    Welcome to Hammock forums. My favorite suspension is the webbings/buckles. I find them easy to adjust and not too heavy. If you are a gram counter the whoopie slings are a good light weight option.

    Hello and welcome to the forums from Marietta GA. An ENO with Atlas Straps was my first hammock, but unlike you I just got into hammocking this year.

    Currently my suspension consists of whoopie slings attached to tree straps via a marlin spike hitch. I'm content with it at this point and not inclined to change anytime soon.

    Happy hanging!

    Greetings from northern KY! Be careful around that DIY section, it's a wee bit addictive.

    My go-to suspension would be whoopies attached to dynaglide huggers and dutch clips. Takes me 2 minutes to set up and is super lightweight.

    Welcome - you've been doing this a long time!

    I think webbing buckles are probably the easiest thing to use, and they make a good water break. Its what I'm using now. I'm considering going with cinch bugs just for the slightly easier way to unattach the hammock when breaking down, and because they're lighter.

    I think that should read dynaglide whoopies attached to huggers. Agreed, the dynaglide whoopies are awesomely light and packable - I just don't care that they only seem to come in neon green or orange.

    Welcome, from Florida.

    I like the ADutchable Clips on my straps->Amsteel 7/64th Lead->Speed Hook->CL.

    Basically a 1 line, very adjustable suspension system.
    Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

    Thanks everyone. I have been looking up more about whoopie slings and underquilts. I am just blown away by how much things have transformed over the years. I hope I can offer help to others.
