Feel free to post your own pre-hike plans is this thread if you want.
I'm planning an ambitious hike into PGFSP arriving on the Thursday before official festivities commence.
Because there is no camping between Alec Kennedy (1117.1) and Darlington (1135.3) shelters except for the often noisy (trains) Backpacker's Campsite at Yellow Breeches Creek (1120.6), I've planned the miles to hit the Doyle and Rt. 11 in Carlisle. There are plenty of opportunities to jump in somewhere along the way.
As long as my back is not acting up, this is my plan. I can also shorten the trip by starting in Duncannon, probably north of the river, and chancing the Yellow Breeches campsite. I'm not sure how hammock-friendly it is. I'll lock in my plans in a few weeks. I plan to use a combination of Greyhound Bus and Uber to get to the trailhead from north Jersey.
Anyone interested?
