    Japanese hang.

Hello every one, I've been very busy the last year (new baby) but things are calming down and I think I can talk my wife into letting me out for a few days. Wondering if anyone from kanto area in Japan might be interested in a bit of a group hike and hang. Really scare the locals with 3 or 4 hangers. I am in Kanagawa, but don't mind travelling. I guess a 2 day one nighter in tanzawa or okutama area might be good. Now the weather is starting to cool down (hopefully). The hornets might be fewer. Let me know what you thing.

I am planning on going on a three or four day hike in the Okutama and Chichibu area over the Silver week break. Probably Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th. I will be in the hammock. PM me if you are interested in joining up.

Hiya! Very interested as well. Can only probably do one night between Friday and Monday (would need preferably two weeks notice). I cannot do Silver Week as I'm planning a trip with my kid. I am also open to winter camping in that area as well.

Hi Alt.Thomas, how old is (are) your kids? I took my 9 year old daughter up for a hike back in May and she really enjoyed it. I have a spot in mind that might be an easy hike and a good place to set up hammocks and tents. Depending on the age of yours, perhaps we could make it a family thing.

If you are interested in reading about a fairly friendly hike that you can do with younger hikers take a look at the write up I did...

    Japanese hang.

Nice blog 'Ginga. My daughter is 8 and going to take her hammock camping for the first time. We went with a tent last year. Planning someplace near Yanagawa this year off the JR Chou line that I hear is hammock friendly. Eventhough I stealth camp when going solo, a key consideration when i go with her is that we use a campsite.

Sounds like fun, my wee one is still far too young, and not sure mummy would let me take her camping for a long time. Like 16-18 then she wouldn't want to come...lol

Made my plans with the kid!

One night on the 18th in Yanagawa. Campsite's name is 月尾根自然の森 (tsuki o-ne shizen no mura). Confirmed with caretaker that it's hammock friendly.

Got the place from Trails blog - http://thetrailsmag.com/archives/7921.
Was planning to attend, made my reservation, but forgot my kid had her undokai.

Excited because I will be testing out a dual hammock layout with spreader bars for the first time.

There is a trail nearby to Mr Kuratake which I hope is not too strenuous.

    Japan Winter Hang?

I'm curious if anyone around here is interested in a winter hang near and around Tokyo (Saitama, Chiba, Yamanashi)?
I'd like to learn some and improve upon cold weather situations. I have a few places in mind in Okutama.

I was thinking timeframe would be late January up to end of Feb?
