Best hammock/system to buy in bulk for scout troop?

Our troop has decided to use leftover funds to purchase hammocks for the troop to use (mostly for backpacking in the White Mtns). If you had to buy ~20 of the same hammock/system for Boy Scouts to use over the next 5 years, what would you pick? I think max total expenditure would be around $100 each and we have plenty of time to wait for a sale/shop around.

Yes we can also DIY though I'm not sure we have the skills and time to do it well, and it doesn't seem that much more expensive to buy (at least the hammock body). Right now I'm leaning toward buying the hammocks (with bug netting and tarp?) and making our own underquilts (Costco throw).

    Thoughts appreciated!

And the 'classic' bottom entry saves $10 off the zip model. http://hennessyhammock.com/products/scout-classic

Yes they're high on my list; one concern is the size though, which they say is up to 5'8". For many scouts that will be ok but we have plenty of older scouts who will be taller. I'm also skeptical that even up to 5'8" will work...I'm 6' and started out years ago in the Asym Expedition which says it fits up to 6' but I felt very cramped (love my WB BB XLC). Anyone have experience with the Scout and whether 5'8" is the right cutoff?

Hennessy is the only manufacturer I'm aware of that includes the whole package (except insulation). Hopefully someone else can help out.

I think I'd establish my requirements and then figure out the budget. Picking a number out of the air like $100 just seems arbitrary. A full hammock setup for a Scout will cost at least $170, in my opinion.

Then again, maybe you don't want tarp, hammock, suspension system and insulation, but some subset thereof.

Arbitrary is what Scout Troop Committes do best! I hear you. Unfortunately I don't think we can swing $170*20 = $3400. Usage would be primarily summer so limited insulation needed. Boys have pads and lightweight bags so a double layer that they can slide pads into would probably be cheapest? Tarp is necessary, yes. I could probably go slightly over $100...

Builder's tarp, tablecloth, some Amsteel and some cheap bugnet material. The only sewing will be in making the Fronkey bugnets (and not much in that). The rest is good scout-appropriate skills, and easily less than $100.... more like $40!
