    There's Willoughby State Forest near Westmore, Vt. Camping is free. The whole loop, including some road walking, would be about 4 days.

    That looks lovely emcee, thanks. I'm not sure if I can make it there by bus, not from my internet searches, but I'll phone the bus terminal to find out.

    Honestly, there's a part of me that doesn't want to do a section of the Long Trail, because I want to do the whole thing, and as a through hiker, doing a section feels like it takes away from that, at least for me it does.
