Video: Highline Trail in the High Uintas of northern Utah

This is a great moderate distance (100 mile) trail if you are looking for altitude and true wilderness. Great place to hang a hammock though a lot of the trail is above treeline. There's a picture of my HH and one of the hammock-friendly campsites at 3:38 into the video.

Enjoyed your video. It is amazing to see miles with very little trees but it offers great observation of wildlife.

Hey, thanks! It's my first attempt at including some of my own flute playing from the backcountry. I hope to do a lot more.

Wow what a voice. Professional narration can be your fall back job if you ever need one. Beautiful area. You must be in good shape to hike at those heights and that amount of climb. How many miles did you put in? How many days did you hike? Did you have to hike off the ridge down to the tree line each night to hang? Thanks for sharing.

It was a very low mileage hike, only about 30 miles. The altitude slowed me down, and the precipitation almost every afternoon limited hiking hours. It was kinda nice in a way to take a more relaxing hike, sit by the edge of the lakes and play my flute, etc. It seemed pretty natural to complete a pass/ridgeline on the days I crossed them and camp down near water and trees.

Thanks and yes I can't even imagine how that altitude would affect me as I die at sea level make 1000 ft climbs It's always nice to have low mile hikes and enjoy your surroundings. I wonder what it would be like hiking in that area and hear someone playing a flute. Neat.
