    Compact RR Spreader Bars

I was looking for a packable solution for my spreader bars, especially when bikepacking so they can fit in my bike pannier.
With a few parts from Quest Outfitters I put together a set of compact spreader bars. All three foot end bar pieces nest snugly into the larger head end pieces.

The bars are just as solid and secure as the stock bars.....I used them for 2 nights already.

Foot end and head end bars

I haven't weighed them yet but the only difference over the stock bars are the addition of just the 2 inserts.

Hi. This is what I ordered from Quest Outfitters:

    2- 26"/.742" poles
    2- end tips
    3- inserts

    2- 26"/.625" poles
    2- end tips
    2- inserts

I used a chop saw to cut the poles to length and used JB Weld for the inserts.

Edit: I actually ended up using the end tips from the stock spreader bars. The Quest end tips came with thicker pins.

Are the Quest parts and the stock warbonnet poles the same size?? Would it be possible to recycle the tips and some of the poles from the original set?

The end tips are, if you JB Weld them. But the poles and inserts are not....they're very close, but not close enough to be compatible to have a nice snug fit.
