I think I'll get out and do some wandering around.
Still in the looking at maps and books phase. Hammocking is the best but a close second is having a bunch of maps and books spread out on the table.

Not on the weekend but the following few days doing Amicalola to Woody Gap to finish off the GA section for me. BTW, much appreciation to Ron and others who have been providing updates on water situation for us.

That's pretty much what I've been doing, minus the books. Much time has been spent staring at maps and planning a ton of stuff.

Slightly unrelated, but that reminds me. I need to call the ranger station to check on the flow rate of this river I plan to camp along this weekend. I've only been out to this area in the spring and early summer. During that time, the river is flowing nicely. Haven't seen it this time of year just yet, and really hoping it's not dried up at this point.

Hanging in the woodlot. My son and I made a small camp ground out in the back. Two hammock sites and one tent site. Have a nice fire pit and a canvas/tarp lean too. We made trails from the house to our sites. Really is like a small camping area. We're going to add several more sites next year. We love it out there and it's really convenient after a hard day of work. You all have a nice weekend and be safe.

Just some light hiking with my wife and twins. Our boys just turned two and do really well in their packs, but we try to do short, 4 or 5 mile hikes just to eliminate the possibility of having to hike to far with a kid having a meltdown on your back. The last weekend in sept I am planning on 30 miles of the Centennial trail here in the black hills. Hoping for mild days and cool nights. We will see. Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Headed out to hike a portion of the AT with the wife. Weather looks good, we're excited to get out without the kids!

Quick one nighter on Lookoff Mountain at Black Rock State Park in Georgia. Then up to explore Franklin, NC and a night in a hotel there.

Doing a one night float Sunday to Monday with a couple of friends and the dog. Hopefully we will get some rain so the water levels will come up. If not looks like there will be more walking then paddling. But its always good just to get out!
If you don't know where you're going, any trail will take you there...
