    Peak Bag loops

I just received my peak bag in the mail today!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Thank you Tim & Donna! (I might be regretting not going camping this weekend so I can use it)

I see the black loops on the top and sides and read on the website: It has a hang loop on the top that can be attached to the ridge line using a prussic knot and biner. Loops on each side near the bottom of the peak bag are for fastening it to the hammock body.

    1. Why would anyone attach it to the hammock body?
    2. How would one even do that? Has anyone done this & have pictures to share?

I have never tried to attach my peak bag to the hammock with the loops on the sides. My peak bag is the same color as yours and I attached it to my whoopie sling using shock cord and I use it for a pillow. The shock cord gives it a little movement which to me makes it easier to adjust for the right spot for sleeping.

I would think it would be attached to the hammock body so you could use the bag in reverse. Kind of like a saddlebag. You could attach it with some type of clips. You could sew on 1/2 in grosgrain with a toggle or a button and slip the bag loops over the toggle or button. Something like that.

I like my peak bags (one head end, one foot end) to hang way up in the gathered ends of my hammock to keep the things out of the way but still within easy reach; I'm 6'2" with a 35" sleeve, so in an 11-foot hammock with a 110" ridge line, the 2QZQ bag suits me perfectly.

My SLD Trail Lair hammock comes with a grosgrain loop sewn into the head end to retain the retractable bug net stuff sack, so it's a perfect place to hang by peak bag too. In fact, I've to sewing in a small grosgrain loop under the hem in the corner of the sewn end channel expressly for hanging a peak bag... Why not?

I am sewing my first hammock and maybe I'll sew in some loops to have the saddlebag option. Thank you for the comments/ideas!
