?? I almost bought this one. I found silnylon at a dollar store and made my own instead.

Once again, dakotaross knocks it out of the park with spot-on advice.

At that price point, the Hennessy Hex is a serious contender.

And I also use and live the SLD Simplicity Asym tarp for fair weather protection, which when pitched properly offers you a solid storm mode but not much of a porch mode. Gotta love the 9 oz weight though!

For an extra 15 dollars you could get a Warbonnet Edge tarp. I have used this tarp forever. I love it.

Good coverage. Low weight. Quality build.

I have an AquaQuest GudeSil tarp that I bought on Amazon for $90. It's rectangular and not a cat cut tarp that is specifically made for hammock camping but it's a great tarp. It has a 12ft ridgeline so you'll get plenty of coverage. It also comes with a bombproof 2 year warranty and AquaQuest customer service has treated me very well. I think it weighs 20oz so it's on the heavier side. Unless you're in horrible shape or are walking hundreds of miles that weight should be reasonable though.

Another vote for HH Hex here. It's my main tarp........ I just can't find a reason to upgrade other than weight savings. That'll come at some point I suppose, but I really love the Hex right now.

Hennessy Hex probably but you can't go wrong with Kelty products.

Just keep in mind that a diamond offers very little coverage against blowing precipitation.

Rather expensive but excellent reviews for the Grand Trunk Rain Fly .
Good protection from rain and sun, 10ft x 10ft, 20 ounces.
Made of denier polyester, strong, resists better than nylon in high humidity.
And polyester provides better protection than nylon against UV
