My wife uses the cocoon lumbar support pillow, if you can find it.
This seems interesting. Gives you the cover with down and you can put the Pillow X in it. Obviously a bit pricey as it is kind of two pillows then instead of one. However, I guess it would give you the comfort of down plus the firmness of air. NOTE: You would still have to buy the Pillow X for this system.

Have you tried the Exped pillow. Has a slight neck roll design that seems to work well. Its expensive, though. The Klymit looks promising.

I bought a cheap travel pillow that's shaped like a U. It's very light, but totally non-compressible. It's filled with little beads of some sort....
Very comfortable.
It fits in the sleeping bad pocket of my small Deuter pack with my HH Explorer and Hex fly.
I tried the same thing, but Sea to Summit's version. I pictured it in my original post, but the pic is small. I'm really not looking for a "pillow". I don't think Exped would function any differently than the the S2S.
Unless you are using this and can verify it is different....

Definitely not the same thing. Saw that Sea to Summit one at the store and tried it, and had the same effect as any other inflatable I've tried. The Exped looks similar, but has the subtle difference of the larger section that goes neckside. I don't own one, but was there with a buddy where we both tried in the store and he bought one to use on our trip, which he says worked great. When I tried in the store, I tried several configurations of back, side, max inflated, 50% inflated, and it seemed real good. Again, its expensive, and it might be worth trying the Klymit first to see if that works.
