I got my revelation in a little under 5 weeks. It seems great!

I'm very satisfied with my 20* Revelation and will be testing my new 30* Revolt purchased from the garage sale very soon. The quality is top notch, but I'm unable to make a comparison with anything else except my diy down items. I'm certainly not married to EE, but it's hard to order from another company after getting such good quality items...and from what I read on the forums could feel the same way with any cottage shop here.
Goody I have been testing my revolt 40 with good results
In the shadows
Seems you may have done a couple things wrong.
1 - Using a 30*F quilt in 20* temperature is asking for it unless you are a very hot sleeper. Comfort for cold sleepers would probably be 40*F. That 2.5oz climashield might give you another 15-20*F of comfort if it's like down and if it's sealed well against the EE (so I would expect only 10*F of real benefit).
2 - The 2.8-R value pad doesn't sound so great for 20* temperatures. IIRC, every 1-R is good for another 10* of comfort. Therefore, 2.8-R would give an additional 28* of comfort. If you can sleep down to 70* without a pad, then your current pad could keep you comfortable down to 42*F. Now, ground temperature may be warmer than air temperature by 10-20*F, so your pad may be comfortable down to 22* if you're a hot sleeper (70-28-20=22).
I could be wrong about all of this since I'm still learning a great deal. Making sense of all this non-comprehensive material and mix-matching information is quite confusing and exhausting...
Hope this helps you on your next trip though.
In response to the OP, if you go to Reddit there is a lot more talk about EE there. I've had the Revelation 20 on the ground many times, in temps from around 20 to 70, and can't say anything but good things. Now that I just bought a Dutch 11', I'll be getting one of their UQs as well.

You could also try looking at Superior Repair. They have a pretty big stock.
