Didn't quite know where to post this since theres no tarp section, but i figure my questions has to do with knots and such so you know. . .
Pretty much i figure i'd just go all in with this tarp set up if it's gonna last me many miles of solid backpacking. After oogling at dutchware over the past year i figure i'd give it a shot.
What i have to work with
Hammock Gear's o so beautiful cuban fiber 11x8.5" tarp
25 ft of zing it
25 ft of shock chord
15x Mini clips
2 JrB Amstel wishbones
For door management i really like this system http://www.adventurealan.com/method-...ck-tarp-doors/ Hence why i bought the clips.
I'll probably store a few lengths of 3ft shock chord in my pack for optional pull outs.
That leaves me with a few questions,
I've seen some videos of this tarp set up with a ridgeline and without. Is it nessesary or recommended to add something like a zing-it ridgeline?
For hardware i was thinking about Dutch's Stingerz with some sections of zingit to go around the trees, and tarpworms or Flyz for the 4x D Rings with loops of shock chord at the d rings for tensioning and zinging to go down to my stakes.
I'll probably store this whole setup in snakeskins fwiw
Whatchya'll think? Any where i can improve or make my life even more convenient?
Feel free to share your knots, ridgeline setup for tarps, line type, guy lines tension system. All this is helping so i can go research a little.
