    Stealth/Shenandoah

    Looking at the Stealth & Shenandoah. I am 5' 10" even (with small feet). 200 lbs. Can't decide on regular or long. I would like a long to cover a future 3 season quilt. Seems like I am on the bubble. Any thoughts?

    You can't make a quilt longer if you need it but you can definitely ignore the extra length. The extra come in handy at times when you want to pull that warmth over your neck and head.

    Some folks camp cold enough and long enough to worry about moisture from respiration building up in TQ. They will opt for a down hood, blackrock type beanie, even sleeves, and a frost bib, to collect condensation away from insulation.

    However. If you don't intend on doing any of that, I'm 5'6" and have always pulled my insulation over my head, at least for part of the night, when the temps are really pushing the limits of my kit.

    Depends on HYHYOH. You could also ask Jacks. That would probably hammer the issue shut for you.

    The 5 10 rule is very odd, a 6 foot bag can be very uncomfortable if your feet relax down... test in the store.
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

    I've attached a photo of me standing in the regular length Shenandoah to the left and the long size black Sierra Stealth to the right. I am pulling the quilt up but not real tight to give you an idea of the coverage. Standing on the end of the quilt my feet are flat and not pointing down. So you could probably take 6 inches off where the quilt ends up around my head. So regular size is basically a comfortable tuck around the chin and ear area. The long is going to be able to drape over my head some. I can block out noise or light with the long length.

    Contact the Jacks either by phone or email. They respond quickly and you will get a solid answer. Very good to do business with.

    For long-term happiness I think you should get the long.
