I don't usually like knowing every twist and turn or upcoming landmark b/c I feel it takes away from the adventure of a trip. But in this case, having never been to Cheaha, I'm doing a little extra pre-trip planning.
When are you going? I've not made it down to this trail and wonder if it's overgrown trail or some what clear? It's on my to do list though.

What weekend in Oct.? Been a few years since I've done this loop, and may link up if ok.

You will have no problem following the trail, only problem I had the first time I did that loop was walking past the the creek crossing where the skyway intersects the CST.

We're trying to leave Oxford as early as possible on that Friday. It's roughly 4 hrs to the Adam's Gap TH assuming we don't lollygag. Still undecided whether we want to check out Cheaha State Park before or after we hit the trail. Either way, we'll be above Heaven for Friday night.

I know you mean Oxford, MS; Oxford, AL is only 30 mins. away! May try to join up if good with you, but don't want to intrude.
