I am procrastinating maybe on this diy milkweed ovum under quilt.
I'm looking at 91"x56" inner fabric. My ripstop is 65" wide. I hate to waste all that fabric and think a cat cut might work well with the side channel elastic cord.
I did a search and nothing came up. This can't be a new idea. Any reason to not do it?
I would not cat cut the outer fabric. This would make a sort of wings on the edges that would pull up along the sides of the hammock. Sort of thinking that the top corners of the UQ would help the end elastic pull the ends tight and close any gaps.
To reiterate. The end elastic cord would "reach" up and pull better than just a near straight across the end to straight edge channels.
I can do it this way and just cut the cat cut out and hem the edge again later if it doesn't work I suppose. Would like to hear your opinions first.
