Looks like I've joined the Costco Throw Extravaganza.

Has anyone used them for a Ridgerunner Underquilt?

Given RR's rectangular-ish shape, wouldn't a folded over lengthwise of the 70" x 60" yield a 60" long, 35" wide doubled up quilt that fits the RR pretty well (dimension 80" by 32" roughly), as a 3/4 kind of quilt? Or would 70" by 30" be better---I'm tall? (Foot pad required in both scenarios.)

Maybe even add one more 60 x 35 layer from another throw to make it a triple? Seems like that would be pretty warm. 30F? maybe 20F?

A triple layer would weigh something like 24 oz.

Any other shapes that would work well? Do a Full length quilt somehow?

No sewing machine handy, so I'm thinking to hire a seamstress from Craigslist for a few hours. Or how hard would it be for a lunkhead like me to sew it by hand? Bad idea?

Input appreciated!
