    My new SLD Trail Lair

After getting cortisone shot in my shoulder and having my driveway re-sealed. It was too late to get to the AT.

So here is my new SLD in hunter green, and where I'm sleeping tonight. I will say this the craftsmanship is phenomenal!!

Enjoy you first night in the 'Lair. I don't have the pullouta on mine and I'm curious how you'll like them.

Its official........my DD hammock is officially retired. It had a good run of 4 years.....and now my wife wants to retire hers as well. Slept like a baby....well almost.....neighbor left their dogs out at 4 am to see how much noise they could make.....

But all in all, the SLD is a fabulous hammock. Thanks Jared for the super fast turn around. I even used the new Pillow X i got on massdrop. it showed up yesterday. its not bad, had to play with it to figure out just how much air i needed. The pullouts worked great kept everything away from me. even though the pillow would have done same.

but all in all, could not be any happier with the hammock. Wife going to take a turn tonight to see how she likes it. Looking forward to taking it out in the woods, but the MAHHA may be its official first outing.

I never use the pull outs since it's a symmetrical hammock. Using a pillow pushes the net away enough in the head side. The feet side is pretty taught. I do think I'm at the larger end for my hammock's size, so different scenarios may apply for wider hammocks/shorter people

I like to use a tie out solely on the head end, even though i do use a pillow, jyst to keep the net away from my face. IMHO it doesn't facilitate a lay for me. It might help beginners find the sweet spot or get used to laying diagonally, but the net is already cut in a certain shape. YMMV

Well my next order came today from SLD, Simplicity Asym Tarp.

Will hang it shortly and put up pics. However on a separate note. I accidentally ripped the snake skin on my DD Hammock 4x4 Tarp. its a 13ft by 13ft monster. Well was ordering a new Simplicity tarp so figured why not ask if he could make me new ones. Jared was quick as always and sent me a set of skins right out. I will try to post pics to them tonight as well.

Talk about A+ service. I couldn't be happier at the moment.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the asym tarp. I just spent 3 nights under mine. One thing I learned from a post on the forum is to run your ridgeline below it. Looks a lot better and pitches tighter.
