When you want to go light, the SLD Simplicity Asym tarp is perfectly shaped for a Trail Lair pulled out in a corresponding lay and offers surprisingly good coverage in storm mode when pitched correctly. I always try to get the tips of the tarp just touching my hammock suspension at the proper hang angle when the hammock is bearing no load, to keep the tarp nice and close to the hammock once it sags a bit with body weight. (FWIW I use Stingerz on Lash-It for the "V".)

I moved my stingerz/w lash-it from my horrible attempt at a cat cut 12ft tarp to the Simplicity this morning. Hoping to hang it up this afternoon to grab some pics.

Light is an understatment for this tarp but extremely happy with it so far.

If RBTR ever does their new tarp kit with pre-cut fabric in burnt orange i MAY (caps on purpose cuase its a big IF) try again.....but if you saw my first attempt you would understand my sewing skills are well horrible.

Here is the new Simplicity Tarp

In its tarp skins I also ordered.

Fabulous sewing and with the tarp tightened on already, simple to deploy. Light as heck and here it is all packed in the stuff sack.

What are the specs on your trailair?
What do you like better than the DD?

I'm looking for something lighter and little more comfortable than my DD FL which is the most comfortAble for me so far.

    Happy Hanging!

    First.......Sorry I missed your reply.

I have slept great in both my DD and my SLD. The options on my SLD can be found on the "New Hanger's Package"

    http://www.simplylightdesigns.com/ca...roducts_id/504

I ordered the New Hangers package, because it came as a complete set, everything you need to hang in one package. This way i wasn't stealing my whoopie's and buckles i had put on my DD Hammock.

The SLD is way lighter to carry and even easier to deploy. The DD once dialed in is great.....but with the SLD i can get it up and sleeping in minutes compared to what it would take for my DD and my wife's DD to be put up.

Just waiting on wife to spend a few more nights in it to 'seal the deal' before order yet another hammock.

Glad to hear you enjoy your new purchase. I had Jared make me a Trail Lair out of hexon 1.0 that is super comfortable. Setup is simple and I use different colored whoopies at each end since I have the inside pocket option that I always keep at my foot end.

I see it is 11' DL but which fabric did you get? How wide?
May be you said and I just missed it.

I just got a 11' x 60" Tree Runner SL in 1.9 Foliage Gray - still working to dial it in (came with SRL but i made UCR Adjustable RL to dial it in with). I did take a nice 1.5 hour nap in it though!
I think I might like it a bit narrower and maybe 10'. Not sure yet.

I do like the 1.9 better than the 1.1 I had in the Streamliner DL.

    Happy Hanging!

It is! In Michigan I use it from late April to early October, then switch to my SLD Streamliner for cold weather hangs.
