Nylons work better, so does that mesh weed barrier you put around plumming.
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

I agree, You are further ahead with hair loops. Bling will make short work of these "loofa" skins. The Whoopie hooks are perfectly ready to shred "plastic Loofa" and as has been said, other bling is hard on the delicate gossamer web of the $1 "skins". YMMV.

No offense intended but if your coughing up the money for titanium bling, maybe you should put up the money for some real snake skins;<)

I got news for you even with as you say good skins, if you're not careful your going will harm them also. I got into a rush with me Hennessy XL and got caught up the wasp and what that sickening noise was, yep a tear! Now I cover or remove the hardware when I use my cube skins from HG, so no matter what method you use care is still called!

I agree but it is all about priorities and necessity vs. luxury. Dutch Bling is a necessity for easy hanging of a tarp to get out into the woods. The Snake Skins are a luxury when in the woods. Hair ties help until funds make the luxury items necessary. Actually, I am using the ties on an $80 Edge Tarp while I save money on Snake Skins and other items to purchase the HG Winter Palace with CF Skins...lol

Love my cuben sleeve from Hammock Gear. Used it on my JMT thru-hike this summer and made setup and take-down a breeze. Quick and easy to use, slide on and slide off. I had the factory stuff-sack for the Warbonnet Superfly Tarp, but easier to connect one end to the tree, connect the other end, then slide off sleeve. Buy once, cry once and I was able to stuff all the guy-lines and stakes in the sleeve, as well. When stored, it fills empty space in the backpack a lot better than a stuff sack, that is limited to the dimensions of the stuff-sack itself.

Aman¡ to the cuben skins they slide on and off so easy but always practice care when leaving hardware in place. I did find some small fly wallets in a fishing store with velco and I just fold them over the wasp no problems.

I tried this method this spring and eventually stopped using because of how fragile they are. They work great for 1-2 trips but the slightest snag ruins the setup.

I used them when starting out and didn't want to spring for snakeskins. You can get by for several trips with them, even torn they work- just look horrible. They do tend to pick up every pine needle in the vicinity. Remember this is a dollar we are talking here.
