When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".
This is one of those things were it looks interesting but I'm happy to let someone else be the guinea pig. Seems like a solution in search of a problem.

This may well fill some people's needs. I am curious how it might. Let's see how it plays out.
Has anybody seen one in the flesh? I am looking to replace my patched and worn Hennessy and this may work. I am not a gram person, if I were I can find lots of places I need to shed some grams! Motorcycle camping might be a good match.
It's up to almost 200k now. Isn't one of the big questions going to be ''so what does it weigh''? I like the motorcycle camping idea for this.
Derrick seems to be very responsive to comments on the Kickstarter program, someone earlier commented it looked tipsy, the response was they are making the production version "deeper" to help minimize the tipsy feeling. The production model will be forest green, and they may offer different weights and types of the sleep bag arrangements, if they reach $250,000 on the pledges. (Currently 217,???) I have pledged for one, and am looking forward to trying it out. Looks perfect for motorcycle camping. I will still use my big Hennessy tarp in rainy weather, just to keep the pile on unneeded items I carry dry, a option not likely for our backpacker friends!
Double layer netted ridgerunner with a ccf or air mattress as insulation. Pitch the tarp on the ground using trekking poles or some other tent poles. Connect the shock cord to the poles and get the netting out of your face. Wala! You've just set up a bivy and tarp and now you're sleeping on the ground.
I think it would work perfectly for tree camping! When climbing and camping high up in the canopy it is pretty impossible to guy out a tarp so having a fully enclosed (self contained) shelter would be nice. Relative to the other options such as a bat hammock or a tree boat the weight is not bad at all.
I don't understand why Clark would be upset. Doesn't look or hang like my NX 270 or any of Clark's hammocks. I like what I see but Warbonnet has drained my bank account, so I'll have to let someone else go first.
The Crua Hammock has "made" it's first goal of $250,000, and my understanding is that at that goal the choice of sleeping bags will be offered. The new color choice is a forest green, which is better for my stealth motorcycle camping style! I am looking forward to getting it! My Hennessy has served me well, but.....
