Internal Pole Mod - pole section length

Is there any advantage or benefit from using longer length of poles for an internal pole mod?

After some preliminary pricing... I can get some 13" easton poles already strung (but will need to lengthen by adding additional segments that I already have) for about $35. Ordering longer segments (26" and 18") and tips from quest outfitters will run a bit over $65 with shipping. Both options are Easton nanolite poles.

I use 13" pole sections for my under tarp pole. I think seven sections in total. I was using five 15" poles (approx length) and though I carry more sections now they are shorter and lighter and pack better.
