We are 2 weeks away and I'd like to thank everyone who has expressed interest in the hang. It looks like we'll have some new people joining us, so for those first timers, glad you can make it! I know some are people are coming Thursday and I'm jealous . I'll be rolling in Friday morning early, so save some coffee and bacon for me. Also, if anyone has any extra gear that may be looking for a new home, please bring it along. I've got a few things that aren't getting used that I'd like to pass on to someone who could get some use out of it.
If you haven't done so already, please update the spreadsheet that Dirk made up here (Thank you Dirk for taking the lead on this!): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing
Location details: The address is 10644 Olds Road, Elmira MI 49730. Here's the map on how to get there plus an aerial map for reference:

Note- I wrote "east of the location"...it's actually "west" of where google puts you...

Looks like Nancy and I will squeeze this one in, but we won't be able to get there until Saturday morning
Prep work and survey underway. Dug the fire pit.

Nice job on the prep work. For that you can have an extra helping of bacon.⛺
Well, I just finished the last underquilt! So I will have four extras to bring to the hang. I didn't have any shockcord so I had to improvise. If anybody has any extra 1/8 laying around that could help plus a few cord locks. Either way they should work just fine.
Here is a picture of what they look like hung with the ends gathered.

Thanks Ed for doing all the prep work at the site. It is looking great. Now it's time to do some packing.
Plenty of property to hang with lots of good, healthy trees. Some trimming will be required. As always, be aware of widow makers and such. I'm sure Turkey (Ed) will elaborate more.

I seen 3 trees that everyone will want to stay away from. I will try to get some yellow ribbon and mark those. For the most part looks like there is a lot of places to hang but like everywhere else in the woods please make sure to look up and around. I will have a sign up at the end of the driveway and then a few arrow signs to point the way back to the hang.
Thanks again Ed for setting us up with a great spot for the hang. I am really excited to try out some of my new gear, especially my new hex tarp that I got from Hennessy and my winter UQ that I made.
Look forward to seeing all of you next week. Don't forget to let us know who is coming and what you are bringing. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing
I will be coming in Friday around 4:00 or 4:30.
Dirk
Someone please kidnap me and haul me up there. Leave a note for my wife.
