Hard to say. I've worked on it as I've had time over the past week and a half. Maybe 4-5 hours total, not including having to pull the stitches on the bug net because I messed up. That took about another 3 hours by itself

Yep. Left over zing it. Wanted to give some pop to the grey and black color scheme. Saw where Dream Hammocks offers the option to have different color stitches and zipper pulls and thought it was brilliant. Wish I had the sewing skills of the Smurfs.

It was the most challenging part. Messed up and had to rip stitches and try again. My last hammock I only put a zipper on one side and it was much more simple.

Looks great. The contrast thread and trim gives it a professional look.
For the hammock tie-out, did you reinforce the seam edge?

Great looking hammock, having dreams of doing the same. How much $ did you put in for the project?

No It's just a 1/2 piece of grosgrain folded in half with a pack hook. Sewn right onto th hem with a couple of bar tacks. Not a lot of stress on it because I use shock cord for the tie outs. Only serves to hold net up and away from face, don't always use them.

From Ripstop by the Roll I bought :
    0.67 nanoseeum mesh 4 yds- $17.00
    1.6 HyperD grey 4 yds- $22.00
    And black 1 yd-$5.50
    2 #3 zipper pulls-$0.70
22 ft of coil zipper ( bought extra for other projects)-$7.70
Crimson guttermann Mara 70 thread- free with fabric.
Then from Dutch ( make your gear):
    1.75 dynema ( blue for ridgeline)- $5.50
    Pack hooks 2- $0.50
    1" grosgrain 1 yd-$ 0.045
Dynema/ polypro webbing for tree straps -$10.00
I already had whoopie slings and continuous loops with dutcbiners for suspension
So $69.35 plus shipping. Also RSBTR has a 5% Hammock Forums member discount.
Not to much really. As much as I would love to have a Dream Hammock, I couldn't afford to deck it out like this one. Would cost me well over $200.00 , sure the build quality would be out of this world and Papa Smurf is a class act, but I like making my own gear to much.

That looks great and love the colors. I wish I had the time and patience to do something like this.
