    vented sock with wbbb xlc

Has anyone tried the summer vented sock with a wbbb xlc? I just got back from a trip and everywhere my legs or shoulders weren't protected by my quilts was chewed on by mosquitoes biting through the hammock! I'm concerned with the wbbb's footbox and ridgeline being further apart than the typical gathered end netless hammock.

Or should I just soak everything in permetherin? A chemical solution would be lighter. Is it just as effective?

Permetherin works pretty good. Do you have a single layer or double?

I have the winter sock (same as summer sock but less venting) and xlc hammock, and don't have any issues using them together. but with that said, I rarely ever use the sock and would sell it if anyone wanted a near mint condition winter sock.

amazingly its a double layer. But under tension it doesnt appear to have presented much of a challenge to them.

This suggestion is probably way off base mosquitoes have tiny proboscis

seems odd for them to get us through two layers of hammock plus clothing. In my case, when I thought about getting the heck chewed out of me, I realized something else was happening. I learned I have an allergy to a substance I use when I am camping. I eliminated the substance no more insect bites through my hammock.
