I'm new to this forum and hoping to make myself a UQ and TQ. About 2 hours ago I placed an order with RBTR for some uncalendered 1.1 oz Ripstop Nylon because the only functional difference I could find at the time was that calendered was downproof. Since this is my first DIY and I'm a little budget-conscious I'm planning on using Climashield APEX insulation so I didn't think calendered would be needed for my purpose. However I just came across a thread posted by pdxhanger asking if 1.1 ripstop nylon was a mistake and craige responded that he should have used a calendared fabric instead because its more resistant to wind.
Should I try to contact RBTR to modify my order to a calendared fabric before they ship, or will I be okay with what i've ordered? If more information helps at all, i'm planning on making a 3/4 UQ with 5oz Climashield and a TQ with 3.6oz Climashield (and potentially doubling the insulation in the footbox for added warmth).
Excited to get to DIY'ing. And thanks to everyone for so much invaluable information. Loving this forum! (Again, new to this forum so I'm not certain I'm posting this correctly!)
