    Burrow with Sewn Footbox Question.

Hope someone here can help with a measurement. Couldn't find it when searching. On a standard Burrow with a sewn foot box, What is the length of the sewn section where the quilt is joined from the bottom of the foot box as it heads towards the knees. Hope that makes sense. It looks to be about 20" or so, but hard to tell from the photos. Thanks for any assistance.

I have a "long" and that section is 20 inches. Then there's 5 inches of triangle material reinforcement.

Well, i have a question on the sewn footbox.

Is there any disadvantage to the sewn footbox?
I have a JRB w the velcro ventable footbox and can say i never use it opened up. If it's too hot, i just pull my feet and legs out and flop it to the side. It seems to me that the quilt in blanket mode is just more material to deal with when it is hot? No?

The only thing i can think of is using it as a bkanket at home on the bed.

So, i'm getting the sewn footbox burrow unless...

Some people think a non-sewn footbox is easier to vent. I disagree. All three of my TQs have sewn footbox.

If I want to vent, I just kick the TQ off my feet, like you.

I have a quilt (not HG Burrow) that does not have a sewn foot box that I use in the summer and a HG Burrow 20 with 2 ounces of overstuff in the foot box for colder weather.

I cannot tell you how much a difference the sewn foot box makes when it is cold. There is no comparison in my eyes.

I'm a pretty warm sleeper and my feet get especially warm and can sweat if too insulated so I got the snaps on my Burrow.

Anyone know how much lighter a sewn footbox is compared to the same quilt with the snaps?

If I'm not mistaken, it's actually a touch heavier, since the end cap is down stuffed fabric, which likely weighs more than a couple plastic snaps and a drawstring. But I'd guess we're talking a minuscule difference.

Having both sewn and snapped footboxes I don't have to speculate. My experience is that the snapped footbox is indeed easier to vent in warm weather. (Think climate control vs plain ole' AC) The sewn footbox is the warmer and more desirable option for cold weather.
