Calf ridge problems in my 11' X 64" Sparrow

I recently went camping in the Sangre De Christo mountains in Colorado with my Dad, son, brother, and brothers in law with my awesome Sparrow. It is 11' and 64" wide. It is a SL Robic 1.0. I weigh in at about 240# and 5' 10" tall. I am loosing weight and already since that trip am below 230#. Maybe this will help.

I was experiencing some pretty significant calf ridge right in the middle of my left calf (right hand lay with my shoulders to the left). What am I doing wrong? I was able to get comfortable by putting an inflatable pillow below my calves, but I think I should be able to get comfortable without a pillow. Am I to far toward the foot/head end? Trying to get too diagonal (about 20-25*)? Is the fabric too stretchy for my weight? I hang my foot end 10-12" higher than the head end. I'm using tree straps with a marlin spike and 6' whoopie slings.

    Any pointers, ideas, etc welcome.

One thing you might try is adjusting your diagonal position until any tight ridge formed is placed behind your left knee. Sometimes it only takes moving your butt a couple inches one way or the other.

Don't have near the experience of PapaSmurf so definitely follow his advice, it does work most of the time. But one added suggestion that I found on my last trip: Lenghten the Straps, lower the hammock slightly, and work to lessen the tautness of the ridgeline. I have noticed that when the ridgeline is too tight, the calf ridge is also more pronounced. If adjusting in the hammock fails, then I adjust the hammock; again with the idea of lessening the distance between the ends of the hammock by loosening the tauntness of the ridgeline.

Very good point. This can indeed cause a tight ridge down the center.
