Truck Hitch Hang. Tree to Truck Hang. One Tree Hang.

    Did my first DIY.

My problem was That i only have one tree in my yard so I couldn't hang or practice any setups easily. My new system from Cave Creek is coming tomorrow so needed to make it happen quickly.

Saw a couple threads on poles on hitches and gave it a shot.

Had home depot cut the 2" pipe to 5'5" which is what will fit in my truck bed perfectly and would be about 6'5" off the ground for hanging which should work fine. I also got the threaded pipe connection so I can add the extension in case I need to go higher on a weird slope or something.

I added the extra line from the pole to the tree for extra support. I was a little scared for the pole swaying. I do not think its necessary. Ill test with out it next time.

My next mod will be to uncover the post holes on my truck to put the ratchets to those and be able to keep my tonneau closed.

    Thoughts on improvements?

Just don't get distracted leaving for work the next morning and forget to clear all that rigging.

    Nice work.

Good thinking! I will remember to put the E-Brake on so it wont move and I will remember why.

Works slick. I'm a little new to this so the angles and judging distance will be tough for me for a while. I think I had the hammock set maybe 3-4 inches too low on this setup. I'll get the 'hang' of it with time and practice.

Definitely need to uncover my post holes on the truck to put a bully ring on each side so I can keep the tonneau cover closed for weather protection for gear. Ford doesn't have the cutouts on the short beds, very annoying.

I am looking to do something similar but use it with my Jeeps rollbar so I will not need any trees... What is the thickness of the piping you used?

I just bought the only 2" pipe at Home Depot. Its fairly thick. I will measure it tonight if i remember to and let you know. Id bet its 1/8inch thick. Not sure though.

Nice. Are you sure the hooks on the orange straps will hold? If not or what ever they are attached to snaps the pipe will come flying.
BTW i think i would add a small crossbar so the suspension cant slide down the pipe.
