    New backpacking gear ordered!!!!!!!!

I leave on the 13th of August for my next trip. Of course I had to place an order with Dutch for a new handful of bling. Also picking up a helinox ground chair. I mocked them when I first saw them, but then had to admit it was incredibly nice at the end of the day.

So on this trip, I'll be trying out my new HG underquilt, a bit of new hammock suspension, a nifty new chair, and a longer trip than I've ever done. Oh yeah, I'll be in CO for the peak of the meteor shower with 5 close friends. Doesn't get much better than that!

Sounds like a fun trip. Did you get the chair one?

I went with the ground chair. Lightest possible solution I could find that was actually worth carrying.

Sounds like an awesome trip. I have the Chair One and a Ground Chair, they are equally comfortable. The Ground Chair just takes one hand to the ground to get out but, you can stretch your legs straight out while seated, very comfy. You'll be very happy with that purchase. Have a great time!

I've got the Chair One and I must say man its comfortable! It fits one my pack surprisingly well too. But great choice on the ground chair.

Lots of nifty new gear + CO hiking + good buddies + meteor shower sounds like perfection to me. Be sure and post photos for those of us chained to our desks, we like to live vicariously through others.

Have fun on your trip! I used to think that people who brought chairs backpacking were just carrying extra weight. I just use a sit pad or a tarp on the ground, but there are definitely times when I wish I just had a camp chair. Let me know how the helinox is. I've been looking at that or the joey chair.

    Aragorn: You've already had it.
Pippin: We've had one, yes. What about second breakfast?
